TIG Welding

TIG welding is defined as Tungsten Inert Gas fusing materials together. TIG welding is more involved than other welding procedures. The welds are very strong and look attractive. TIG welding is also widely applied in mechanised systems either autogenously or with filler wire. However, several 'off the shelf' systems are available for orbital welding of pipes, used in the manufacture of chemical plant or boilers. The systems require no manipulative skill, but the operator must be well trained.

MMA Welding

MMA welding is defined as Manual Metal Arc welding or can be referred to as ‘Stick/Arc Welding’. MMA as a process uses a consumable electrode coated in flux to lay the weld. A current is passed through and an arc is formed between the two metals to be joined. The flux coating serves its purpose by disintegrating and dispersing a gas and a layer of slag. This protects the welded area. Our welding team is qualified and expertise to work for different range of material and thickness range.

Site Welding

Onsite welding services are ideal for projects that cannot feasibly be managed in the shop, or would get better results being handled onsite, such as maintenance and repair services to metal structures, construction, and installations. We will carry out site welding at your premises using our portable welding equipment in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.

The metal welding facilities at PR Metal Works LLC include highly skilled, automated MIG and TIG welding for an extensive range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Our highly experienced weld teams specialized in welding of low to high gauge materials and are trained to a very high standard. We manufacture components and welded assemblies of various sizes, materials and levels of complexity. We have the latest welding technology. With this we can weld many different types of materials in many different specialised grades at our premises or at customers’ premises if required, to relevant standards or project specification.

The types of materials we work with are:

  • Mild Steel
  • Aluminium
  • Stainless Steel

MIG Welding

MIG welding is defined as Metal Inert Gas fusing or joining of metals, used mainly for welding steel, but can also be used on aluminium providing a different gas compound is used with aluminium welding wire. MIG welding is the simplest of welds used within engineering and can look attractive. At PR Metal Works LLC our welders have extensive experience and weld to relevant standards. MIG is widely used in most industry sectors and accounts for more than 50% of all weld metal deposited. Compared to MMA, MIG has the advantage in terms of flexibility, deposition rates and suitability for mechanisation
